  • Over the years St. Andrew’s has initiated features of Presbyterian church life that are now regarded as commonplace. It pioneered the restoration of liturgical form to the increasingly impromptu Presbyterian worship services of the 19th century. The introduction of instrumental music into worship, the robing of the choir, and innovations in the celebration of Holy Communion marked St. Andrew’s as a leader in Presbyterian worship.

    The worship of God is the first priority of the church, and all of its ministries flow out of this primary calling. Each Sunday morning, members and friends of St. Andrew’s gather for worship at 10:30 am. There are guests and visitors every week, and newcomers are always welcome. The style of worship is rooted in the Reformed and Presbyterian tradition and follows a fairly traditional liturgical format.

  • When you arrive, you will be greeted at the door and given a bulletin outlining the various parts of the service, including hymns and scripture readings. Keeping the bulletin with you throughout the service will help you follow along and participate fully. You are welcome to sit anywhere in the church, including the second-floor gallery or balcony.

    The service proceeds without spoken announcements for hymns or standing and sitting. If you are unsure when to stand or sit, the bulletin offers guidance, and you are always welcome to follow the movement of those around you. Please do not feel awkward if you stand or sit at the wrong time.

    The Sacrament of Communion is celebrated several times throughout the year, with details provided in the bulletin. At St. Andrew’s, all are welcome to participate, regardless of denominational or congregational affiliation. We aim to maintain a reverent tone in worship while being a friendly, welcoming, and joyful community, and we hope you feel at home whether this is your first visit or you have been part of the community for many years.

  • The Nursery

    The Nursery is now available in Room 206 for children up to 2 years of age.  The Nursery opens at 9:00 am and parents and/or guardians may take the children directly to the Nursery before worship begins and collect them from the same location afterwards.  Our Nursery Coordinator is Sheida Ebrahimi.

    Church School

    Church School is available for children 3 to 12 years old.  The children should begin church with their parents in the Sanctuary, but join Church School when called.  Children will remain in room 207 until parents/guardians pick them up after worship. 

    Please note that Church School will be on break for July and August and returning on September 13th. Activity bags will be available in the Narthex for children during this time.

  • Sunday Adult Bible Study 
    The Sunday morning Bible Study Group meets at 9am in the Boardroom however, Bible Study will be on break for July and August, returning September 13th

    No background or understanding of the Bible is necessary to participate in this study group – all are welcome!

Thursday Communion Service

  • Doors will open at noon. All are welcome!

    Every Thursday from 12:15 to 12:45 pm, St. Andrew’s offers a short service of Holy Communion held in the chancel area at the front of the church. This midweek service is a quiet, reflective time of worship, open to all.

    When you enter the sanctuary, you are invited to come forward to the chancel, the raised area at the front of the church, and to sit in the chancel pews. A bulletin and a copy of the biblical reading for the service are usually available. The service includes prayers, scripture readings, a short reflection, and the Sacrament of Communion. During Communion, those who wish to participate are invited to come forward and form a semi-circle around the Communion Table. The ministers and servers will bring the bread and wine to each person, and the congregation remains together until all have shared. At St. Andrew’s, everyone is welcome to participate in Communion, regardless of denominational or congregational affiliation.

Weddings

St. Andrew’s is a beautiful sanctuary in which to celebrate your wedding. While we do not require that couples who get married at St. Andrew’s be members of the congregation, we would strongly encourage all who are interested to join us for a morning worship service in order to have a chance to see the sanctuary and get a feeling for the atmosphere and reverence of our worship services.

Baptisms

The celebration of the Sacrament of Baptism is one of the most beautiful and significant moments in the life of the Church.

Baptism marks the moment of initiation into the Body of Christ, and into the Christian life. In the Presbyterian tradition, Baptism is open to those who profess their faith in Christ, and to their children (even as infants!)

Funerals

Ministers are available to conduct funeral services, either at St. Andrew’s or at a Funeral Home if the family of the deceased so chooses.
